Today was my sixth day at the first week in the Regional Center for Educational Planning of UNESCO in University City in Sharjah. It was a hard day for us because we still working in the website which make us crazy like talking to the screen and slapping the computer.
At the morning, from 8:00 – 1-30 we were working on the website. Finally we finished about 70% of the website. We used Dynamic website to add to the website some element and animation to make it attractive. We were facing some problem such as the Head and the Body are closed and we have to change the template. Sometime, I started to write the HTML codes by myself to know where is the problem.
There were some visitors who are from Human Resources from Sharjah were they had a workshops and trainer in Training Room Number 5. From that I recognized that the second purpose of this centre it is a placement where some of the instruction make their workshops in. I was hoping to attended the workshop but I have many work to do so I have to complete my work.
I was really happy today because finally I finished my site section and just I am going to add some advertisements.
In the last week I had been at the Regional Center for Educational Planning of UNESCO at the University City in Sharjah for my work placement. I was really happy and I am really interesting in going here for my work placement because I really believe that the UNESCO is stated purpose is to contribute to peace and security by promoting international collaboration through education, science, and culture. Moreover, I feel it is a great opportunity for me to work with any of the UNESCO branch which was my dream because I believe that the propose of this center suit our society and community my college staff. Furthermore, I think that this work placement allows me to apply what I have studied at my college. Also, I think that this work placement helps me to know how to deal with adults which is a new thing for me to work learn about. I have studied different information about that in my Work Placement Course and from some other articles that I read of how to deal and motivate adults, but now I have chance to practice it firsthand. Moreover, I believe that this course helps us a lot to connect our studying with the real environment. In my view point, I believe that this work placement helped me a lots to share my improve my skills in creating website using Dreamweaver and how to deal with adults trainers.
While working with the staff in the Regional Center for Educational Planning of UNESCO, I learnt about the main propose for this center. After we had our first meeting with Mr. Taha, I noticed that this center helps the Ministry of Education for planning new strategies in teaching and creating different workshops for teachers, administrators and the ministry staff. Moreover, I found that Mr. Taha has a good experiences in different places. Although he is an IT Engineering in Network Security but he is familiar with different technology. I noticed that he is like an encyclopedia in Information Technology, because he is knew different information about the Technology age I knew different information about the newest technology about the solar energy system on using personal Computer. In addition, he spoke with us about the budget of the Ministry of Education and how did the use the money for improving the Technology use in schools which I found it interesting because I was thinking about the budget of the Ministry of Education and how they spent them.
Moreover, Mr. Taha discussed with us about our work that we are going to work in the two last weeks in our working placement. The first task that we are going to work in is to develop their website. And the other task he is going to show us some new technology about video captures for the conferences. He gave us his business card to open the website of the centre to write down some suggestion.
When we open the website we wrote some suggestion because we have to show Mr. Taha our planning for developing the website. I noticed from sharing our ideas that this helped us a lot to scaffold each other and it helped me to recognized the meaning of groups work were we share ideas and thoughts to complete task or to produce materials or products. Moreover, we went to have a meeting with Dr. John Raven and Mr. Peter Campbell who gave us some suggestions to help us to improved the website effectively . I believe that Dr. John and Mr. Peter suggestions was very effective and useful for developing the website.
We find that we have to:
· Centered all of the pages.
· Changed the Main Menu font color.
· Change the scroll down menu by adding some submenu
· Justify the text.
· Create style sheet.
· Small navigation bar
· Check the hyperlinks to work effectively.
· Make some paragraphs
· Add some advertisements about the workshops.
When we brainstormed we tough that this will make the website attractive more than it is now. Mr. Taha liked our plan for developing website but although we would like to improve it more but the administers refused to make the changes that we would like to do.
We started to develop the website using Dreamweaver it is ongoing and we hope that we will finish it soon. First, we created the template for all of the pages this will to save time because we can apply this template for different pages instead of creating the pages for the beginning. Then we decided to divide the website between us to help us to develop the website. I took the English site and Salha took the Arabic site. After that each one of us started to developed the pages following our plan. Moreover, we used Dynamic website to help us to make the website more attractive and interactive. Mr. Taha had with us a regularly meeting to know how far we are in. Furthermore, I learnt from showing Mr. Taha our work day-by-day helped us to get different feedback which scaffold our learning and brainstorming helped to improve the website step by step.
While we were creating the website we faced some problem in developing the RCEP website. The first problem that we faced was the button. After we created the buttons we did not preview the site so we create all of the pages and then we recognize that the buttons did not appear in the website. We really become crazy because we spent all of our time in creating the buttons and page. After that when we solved the first problems, we faced the second problems. The second problem was the button we cannot link them to the pages. So we decided that instead of wasting our time in trying to solve the problem, we created our own buttons using Adobe Photoshop and Paint.
During my working placement at the RCEP, I recognized the differences between working in an organization than working in a school. First of all, I learnt how to deal with adults which force me to deal with them in a professional way. Also, I learnt how to plan for creating effective website and the main point in evaluating websites.
By the end of that week we finished about 70% of the website which I worked on them from Sunday until Thursday.
Today was my last day at the first week in the Regional Center for Educational Planning of UNESCO in University City in Sharjah. It was an excited day for me because Miss Maryanne.
At the morning, from 8:00 – 11-30 we were working on the website. Finally we finished about 70% of the website. We used Dynamic website to add to the website some element and animation to make it attractive. We were facing some problem but we solve it and figure it out. I like Google Talk because I used it a lot to contact my classmate.
I was happy because Miss Maryanne is coming to visit us today. Miss Maryanne arrived at 11:30 and she called me to come and booked her from the car parking. I took her to my Supervisor Mr. Taha and we had a nice conversation. After that Mr. Taha took us to see Miss Mahrah who is the director of the center. It pleased me to have a meeting in the meeting room in with Miss Mahrah, Miss Maryanne, Mr. Taha, Mr. Moktar, Salha and I. we had a kind of formal meeting but it was very friendly. At 2:00 Miss Maryanne left the centre and she was happy.
At 02:15 Miss Mahrah took us by her car to the college instead of walking down to the college in the hot and dry weather. We were very thankful for her.
I was really happy today because I met Miss Maryanne and because tomorrow is my brothers’ wedding so please wish for my a good luck and also for my brothers.
Today was my forth day at the Regional Center for Educational Planning of UNESCO in University City in Sharjah.
At the morning, from 8:00 – 1-00 we completed the working on developing the website. Finally we finished about 50% of the website. It pleased me to developed the website because I believe that this project will help me to develop my skills in Dreamweaver.
Unfortunately, Salha faced a problem in the Arabic because of align to the right. But I hope that Salha will figure how to solve the problem. Furthermore, we noticed that there is a meeting for Al Gaad School to create a new planning for the next year.
At 12:45 we had a meeting with Mr. Taha. It pleased me to see that he like our work and he gave us an effective feedback.
I was really happy today because we Finished about 50% of the developing stages although it made us crazy. But that’s WHY I LIKE DREAMWAVER because it helps me to think critically to solve the problems that I faced them.
Today was my third day at the Regional Center for Educational Planning of UNESCO in University City in Sharjah. It was a hard working day for me.
At the morning I met with Mr. Taha and I asked him to give us the website folder. From 8:00 – 1-00 we were working on developing the website. Because we are two students we divided the website into two section. I took the English site and Salha took the Arabic site. However, at the first we started the template that we are going to use. Today was second day at the Regional Center for Educational Planning of UNESCO in University City in Sharjah.
I arrived at 7:45 at the centre I started to carry on with our task which is to develop the RCEP website. I started on list some point for how to develop the website. Moreover, I served the Internet to learn more about the effective websites.
Between 10: 00 to 11:00 we had a meeting with Mr. Taha were we showed him some of our ideas for improving the website. It pleased me to know that he liked our ideas. Furthermore, we brainstormed together some ideas to add some animation. From that point we started to think about the software that we are going to use to make the website interactive more. Furthermore, We went to meet the manager Mr. Moktar who was very friendly and have a nice sense of humor.
From 11:00 – 1:00 Salha and I started to work on Dreamweaver to create template for the website to show Mr. Taha tomorrow. Furthermore, I noticed from sharing our ideas that this helped us a lot to scaffold each other and it helped me to recognized the meaning of groups work were we share ideas and thoughts to complete task or to produce materials or products.
At 1: 30 we went to have a meeting with Dr. John Raven and Mr. Peter Campbell who gave us some suggestions to help us to improved the website effectively . I believe that Dr. John and Mr. Peter suggestions was very effective and useful for developing the website.

In the last week I had been at Integrated Learning Centre at the Sharjah Women Colleges for my work placement. This work placement I feel is a great opportunity to work with my college staff. Moreover, I think that this work placement allows me to apply what I have studied at my college. Furthermore, I think that this work placement helps me to know how to deal with adults which is a new thing for me to work learn about. I have studied different information about that in my Work Placement Course and from some other articles that I read of how to deal and motivate adults, but now I have chance to practice it firsthand. Moreover, I believe that this course helps us a lot to i connect our studying with the real environment. In my view point, I believe that this work placement helped me a lots to share my ideas for the ILC Branding project with Mr Ken.
While working with the ILC I learnt about “branding”, something I did not know about before. When I met Mr. Ken, he discussed with us about his project which Branding. Branding is a collection of images and ideas identifying a company or organization. He decided to create a Branding for the Integrated Learning Centre for the Men’ and women campus. He showed us some examples for some of the templates that they created them before. From Mr. Ken’s viewpoint the said he would like to improvise a copyright for all of the ILC materials or worksheets. I learnt that I should save my work by creating logo, banner, template, etc to save my work and to deliver the message clearly. Moreover, I learnt from showing Mr. Ken our work day-by-day helped us to get different feedback which scaffold our learning and brainstorming helped to improve the template step by step.
By the end of that week I produced different tasks which I worked on them from Sunday until Thursday. For example, I prepared a Dreamweaver page for dividing the Online Learning Zones into four different zones so, Miss Shaikha can help the students to know where is their lesson location (in which zones) by just looking at a TV monitor screen. Moreover, it will help the students to go directly to their lesson zone. Take for example, Miss Maryanne’s class in Zone B, so all of Miss Maryanne students will know to meet the class in Zone B by just looking at the TV Monitor screen on the wall. I think that this helps to arrange the Online Learning Zone and decreases the amount of noise it causes by the students who are confused about where to find their lesson zone. I gained more knowledge about the Library rules and their management system by reading the posters which are displayed on the Online Learning Zone walls and from working with staff.
Moreover, Mr. Ken asked us to present to the teachers about his Branding Project. We included in the presentation the definition of the Branding and the objective of Branding project. I believe that bring helps the users to delivers the message clearly so it helps the users to noticed the logo or the template related to which organization or company. Moreover, I was excited when I present the presentation in front the librarians and Mr. Ken because it was the first time for me to present a presentation and the audience are my teachers and college staff. Afte considering the benefit of the Branding we explained Mr. Ken’s project. We used Flip Chart and we draw our planning stages which I believe that is the important stage and the difficult one. In this stage we applied the knowledge and skills that we know to create an interactive and effective template for the library. Furthermore, we explain the Education application for having the same template for all of the teachers which helped them in the rush hour to borrow the presentation from other teachers.
During my working placement at the college ILC, I recognized the differences between working in an organization than working in a school. Also, I learnt how to create effective Power Point presentation rather than the childish power point with lots of animation to make it attractive. Moreover, I learnt from some of the librarians, like Miss Agnes, some tips for planning the Branding template.
However, while I was having my working placement, I met one of the Educational Technology staff who was disappointed that we are working in the library rather than working with the Educational Technology staff which he think that will help us more than working in the library. I asked him if we can take our working placement on the Educational Technology department next semester. He welcomed us and asked us to tell Miss Maryanne about having the work placement next semester with him at the college.
I really was happy to practice new and interesting things, which is to work in the business fields. I strongly believe that this experience will develop my skills by working on various tasks. I think that this working placement will help me decide on my career options. Because I think the working placement helps me to know more about the career and the places that I am going to work in. Also it will help me to learn more about the real world tasks.
Today was my first day at the Regional Center for Educational Planning of UNESCO in University City in Sharjah. At the morning I was very interested and excited and something funny happen to Salha and make me laugh at her. Salha she want to Judiciary Studies building and she thought that this is the UNESCO building. And we I arrived to the UNESCO at the morning she called me and said that I went to a wrong building, after that she recognized that she is in a wrong building and she run away and come to the building quickly. Then we met each other on the reception of the UNESCO building. We saw teachers from the schools have a conversation about the curriculum for the school.
Between 9:00 and 11:30 we had a meeting Mr. Taha it was an interesting meeting we learned different information about the modern schools and the ministry of education. Moreover, she spoke with us about the video conversation in the center. In addition, he spoke with us about the budget of the Ministry of Education and how did the use the money for improving the Technology use in schools. Furthermore, he spoke with us about the website that we are going to improve it to the center. I was really interested on that and I was enthusiast to work in this centre.
Mr. Taha told use about our starting time and ending it. Our day with start from 8:00 to 1:00 and he allow us to work at home if we would like to. Furthermore, the first week we are going to work on the website improvement. But Next week we are going to work on the IT and Technology department.
For me I was lucky because of the restaurant service because it was really amazing. After our meeting we went to have our breakfast. There was a waiter who was very friendly with us and after that in the lunch time Mr. Kalfan invited us to the lunch and it pleased us to have our lunch with some principals from the school.
I am really interested in this centre and I would like to have my future care here.
Today was my last day at the ILC at Sharjah Women College. This day was very active for me.
At the morning we meet Mr. Eaz Al Deen who asked us about the program and he was surprised because he was asked us to work in the Educational Technology Departmen next semester. Moreover, After that we started to practice the presentation on the Meeting Room.
At 11 we presented our presentation there were just 4 teachers Mr. Ken, Miss Chirley, Miss Agnes and Miss Sussien. I was happy to present for them about Branding. During the presentation I asked them some questions to engaged them to the presentation. Furthermore, it pleased me to know that the teachers likes our presentation and they asked us lots of questions which we answered them professionally.
Between 1 – 3 we started to improved our questionnaire for the UNSCO that we are going to next week. Moreover, before I leave the library I thanked all of the staff and teachers for their respect and scaffolding. I really enjoyed this week a lot.
Next week I will train in the Regional Center for Educational Planning of UNESCO in University City in Sharjah. I am really interesting in going there for my work placement because I really believe that the UNESCO is stated purpose is to contribute to peace and security by promoting international collaboration through education, science, and culture.
Preparation for our Presentation
Today was my forth day at the ILC at Sharjah Women College. In this day we worked hard.
At the morning Salha and I carry on the work that we have to create them. Moreover, when we finished from our presentation we want to Mr. Ken and showed him our presentation and he add some ideas and wish for us a good luck. After that we started to create our own template as a example for the presentation. But when we sent the Presentation to Miss Maryane to view it she change few things to make the presentation Professionals.
Between 1 – 3 we started to practice doing the presentation and prepare our staff. It pleased me that we practice it well.
